Gita 10.41 Bhagavad Gita
📖 Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 10 — Vibhuti Yoga
यद्यद्विभूतिमत्सत्त्वं श्रीमदूर्जितमेव वा ।
तत्तदेवावगच्छ त्वं मम तेजोंऽशसम्भवम् ॥
Yad yad vibhootimat sattvam shreemad oorjitam eva va,
Tat tad evavagachchha tvam mama tejonsha sambhavam.
यत् यत्
whatever
विभूतिमत् सत्त्वम्
being endowed with glory
श्रीमत्
beautiful — prosperous
ऊर्जितम् एव वा
or powerful — vigorous
तत् तत् एव
all of that
अवगच्छ त्वम्
understand
मम तेजः अंश
from a fraction of My splendour
सम्भवम्
has arisen

A universal principle, stated in a single shloka. Whatever being is glorious, prosperous, or powerful — know that it has arisen from a mere fraction of My radiance. Krishna compresses the entire vibhuti catalogue into one rule. Even if you cannot remember the specific examples, remember this one sentence.

Living with this awareness changes how a person sees the world. When a tree bursts into bloom — a fraction of the divine radiance. When a child laughs — a fraction. When an elder speaks with hard-earned wisdom — a fraction. This is the practice of Vibhuti Yoga: training the eye to recognise the sacred in the everyday.

This shloka is the practical extension of 10.40. If the list is incomplete, then what is the rule? Here it is. Both shlokas together form the usable essence of the entire Vibhuti Yoga.

This shloka has been widely quoted across the tradition. Whenever a person recognises greatness in something, this shloka provides the lens to trace it back to its divine source.
