Among the most tender promises in the entire Gita. Krishna says: those who worship Me constantly, with love — to them I personally give that understanding by which they reach Me. The seeker's only job is to stay devoted. Everything else, the divine handles. This is the Gita's doctrine of grace.

Preetipoorvakam — with love. Not a condition, but a quality. When devotion carries genuine affection, it becomes real. To such a devotee, Krishna gives buddhi yoga — not bookish knowledge, but an inner awakening. Like a seed that has been watered patiently finally cracking open. The sprouting is not the seed's doing alone. It is the work of soil, water, and sun together.

This shloka follows naturally from 10.9. Those who live in satsang and devotion — what do they receive? Krishna's own assurance: I will give them the understanding they need. This is a description of divine compassion.

In 18.66, Krishna makes a similar promise: I will free you from all sins. Both 10.10 and 18.66 carry the same spirit — the devotee needs only to surrender; the rest is grace.
