This verse wraps its arms around everyone else. Those who cannot meditate, who do not know the philosophical paths — if they simply listen to someone who does know and then practice devotion with faith, they too cross beyond death. Krishna is absolutely clear about this.

For anyone who has ever thought, 'I do not understand these deep things,' Krishna is responding directly. It does not matter. Listen to those who know. Hold that teaching with faith. That is enough.

This verse reveals the simplicity at the heart of the bhakti path. Shravana — listening — is the first of the nine forms of bhakti. Here the Gita treats it as an independent path to liberation.

In the Gita Press edition, this is the twenty-sixth shloka. The next verse (13.27) returns to the chapter's core insight: every being is a union of Kshetra and Kshetragna.
