Mantra 1
त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम् ।
उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान्मृत्योर्मुक्षीय माऽमृतात् ॥
Tryambakam yajamahe sugandhim pushtivardhanam |
Urvarukamiva bandhanaan mrityor mukshiya maamritaat ||
त्र्यम्बकम्

the fragrant one (of divine qualities)
पुष्टिवर्धनम्
the one who increases nourishment
उर्वारुकम् इव
like a ripe cucumber
मृत्योः मुक्षीय
may we be freed from death
मा अमृतात्
may we not be severed from immortality
We worship the three-eyed Shiva — fragrant with divine qualities, the nourisher of all. As a ripe fruit falls naturally from its stem, may we be freed from death — yet never cut off from immortality. This is the celebrated Mahamrityunjaya mantra.
Mantra 2
यो रुद्रो अग्नौ यो अप्सु य ओषधीषु ।
यो रुद्रो विश्वा भुवनाऽऽविवेश तस्मै रुद्राय नमो अस्तु ॥
Yo rudro agnau yo apsu ya oshadhiishu |
yo rudro vishva bhuvanaaavivesha tasmai rudraaya namo astu ||
अग्नौ
in fire
अप्सु
in water
ओषधीषु
in herbs and medicines
विश्वा भुवना
all the worlds
आविवेश
has entered into
Salutation to that Rudra who is in fire, who is in water, who is in herbs and medicines — and who has entered into all the worlds.
Mantra 3
तमु ष्टुहि यः स्विषुः सुधन्वा यो विश्वस्य क्षयति भेषजस्य ।
Tamu shtuhi yah svishuh sudhanva yo vishvasya kshayyati bheshajasya |
स्तुहि
praise, offer salutation
स्विषुः
the one with excellent arrows
सुधन्वा
the one with an excellent bow
भेषजस्य
of medicine
क्षयति
is lord
Praise that Rudra with excellent arrows and bow — the lord of all medicines.
Mantra 4
या ते रुद्र शिवा तनूः शिवा विश्वाह भेषजी ।
शिवा रुद्रस्य भेषजी तया नो मृड जीवसे ॥
Ya te rudra shiva tanuh shiva vishvaha bheshajii |
shiva rudrasya bheshajii taya no mrid jiivase ||

auspicious body / form
भेषजी
medicinal, healing
मृड
give comfort
जीवसे
for the sake of life
O Rudra, that form of yours which is auspicious and always healing — by that same healing form, grant us comfort and the fullness of life.
Mantra 5
इमा रुद्राय तवसे कपर्दिने क्षयद्वीराय प्रभरामहे मतिम् ।
Ima rudraaya tavase kapardine kshayadviiraaya prabharaamahe matim |
तवसे
to the powerful one
कपर्दिने
to the matted-haired one
क्षयद्वीराय
to the refuge of heroes
मतिम्
our prayer and devotion
To the powerful, matted-haired Rudra — the refuge of heroes — we offer our prayer and devotion.
Mantra 6
नमो वो अस्तु भगवन्तो विश्वे देवा अवन्तु नः ।
Namo vo astu bhagavanto vishve deva avantu nah |
भगवन्तः
the glorious, the divine
विश्वे देवाः
all the deities
अवन्तु
may they protect
Salutation to Bhagavan Rudra and to all the deities — may they all protect us.

The eleventh anuvak concludes the Namakam. It contains the celebrated Mahamrityunjaya mantra — the great mantra of victory over death. Rudra is saluted as the all-pervading one present in fire, water, and herbs, as the lord of all medicine, and finally as Bhagavan alongside all the deities.
