The tenth anuvak holds both faces of Rudra: the gentle and the fierce, the copper-hued and the dawn-coloured, the destroyer and the liberator. He is both the one who strikes and the one who saves.

Mantra 1
नमः सोमाय च रुद्राय च ।
Namah somaaya cha rudraaya cha |
सोमाय
to the gentle, tranquil form
रुद्राय
to the fierce Rudra form
Salutation to Rudra in his gentle, moon-like form — and in his fierce form.
Mantra 2
नमस्ताम्राय चारुणाय च ।
Namastaamraaya chaarunaaya cha |
ताम्राय
to the copper-hued one
अरुणाय
to the dawn-hued one
Salutation to Rudra in his copper hue and his dawn-red hue.
Mantra 3
नमः शंगाय च पशुपतये च ।
Namah shangaaya cha pashupataye cha |
शंगाय
to the one who brings happiness
पशुपतये
to Pashupati, lord of all living beings
Salutation to the joy-giving Rudra — and to Pashupati, lord of all living creatures.
Mantra 4
नमो उग्राय च भीमाय च ।
Namo ugraaya cha bhiimaaya cha |
उग्राय
to the fierce one
भीमाय
to the awe-inspiring one
Salutation to Rudra in his fierce and awe-inspiring forms.
Mantra 5
नमोऽग्रेवधाय च दूरेवधाय च ।
Namo'grevadhaya cha durevadhaya cha |
अग्रेवधाय
to the one who strikes close at hand
दूरेवधाय
to the one who strikes from afar
Salutation to Rudra who strikes close and strikes from afar — none is beyond his reach.
Mantra 6
नमो हन्त्रे च हनीयसे च ।
Namo hantre cha haniiyase cha |
हन्त्रे
to the one who strikes down
हनीयसे
to the one who strikes down most powerfully
Salutation to Rudra the destroyer — and to the most powerful of destroyers.
Mantra 7
नमो वृक्षेभ्यो हरिकेशेभ्यो नमस्ताराय ।
Namo vriksebhyo harikeshshebhyo namastaaraaya |
वृक्षेभ्यः
to Shiva in the form of trees
हरिकेशेभ्यः
to the green-leaved one
ताराय
to the liberator, the one who takes us across
Salutation to Rudra present in trees and green leaves — and salutation to Tara, the one who carries us across the ocean of existence.
