Krishna opens the seventh chapter with an invitation. Fix your mind on Me, take shelter in Me, practice yoga — and then listen. What I tell you will leave no room for doubt. You will know Me completely.

There is a warmth in how Krishna frames this. He does not demand. He says: come close, sit with Me, and I will hold nothing back. Like a grandparent calling a child to sit in their lap before sharing a story — the condition is not brilliance or qualification, but closeness and trust.

The key word here is 'asanshayam' — without any doubt. Half-hearted study never completes itself. But a mind that settles into trust, free from second-guessing, can receive the whole truth. This opening shloka sets the tone for the entire chapter: come with faith, and knowledge will follow.

This is the first shloka of Chapter 7, Gyana Vignyana Yoga — the Yoga of Knowledge and Realization. The word 'madashrayah' is significant: Krishna asks not just for intellectual curiosity, but for surrender. This chapter will cover both gyana (theoretical knowledge) and vignyana (experiential realization).

The Mundaka Upanishad teaches that Brahma-gyana comes only when one approaches the guru with shraddha and humility. By saying 'shrinu' (listen), Krishna establishes the guru-shishya relationship — the traditional gateway to knowledge.
