The vajra — Indra's weapon, forged from the bones of the sage Dadhichi. It is considered the most powerful weapon in the Vedic tradition. Kamadhenu — the celestial cow who grants all wishes. In these two vibhutis, power and generosity both find their divine source.

Kandarpa — Kamadeva, the god of desire — is named as the vibhuti in procreation. The creative force that brings new life into the world is itself divine. The Gita does not shy away from naming desire in its proper context. Every dimension of existence — including creation through attraction — is a manifestation of the one source.

The story of the vajra appears in the Rig Veda and the Bhagavata Purana. Sage Dadhichi gave up his own bones so Indra could forge this weapon — one of the great tales of sacrifice in the tradition.

Naming Kamadeva as a vibhuti shows that the Gita does not regard any aspect of life as impure. Every force — destructive or creative — is an expression of the divine.
