Mantra 1
नमो हिरण्यबाहवे सेनान्ये दिशां च पतये नमः ।
Namo hiranyabahave senanye disham cha pataye namah |

to the lord of all directions
Salutation to Rudra — the golden-armed one, the commander of armies, and the lord of all directions.
Mantra 2
नमो वृक्षेभ्यो हरिकेशेभ्यः पशूनां पतये नमः ।
Namo vriksebhyo harikeshshebhyah pashunaam pataye namah |

to the one present in trees

to the one with green leaves as hair
पशूनां पतये
to Pashupati, lord of all creatures
Salutation to Rudra who dwells in trees, who wears green leaves as his crown — and who is Pashupati, lord of all living beings.

नमः सस्पिञ्जराय त्विषीमते पथीनां पतये नमः ।

to the lord of food and grain
Salutation to Rudra — the brown-hued one who pierces all obstacles, the lord of food and grain.

नमो हरिकेशायोपवीतिने पुष्टानां पतये नमः ।
Namo harikeshshayopavitine pushtanam pataye namah |

to the green-haired one

to the one wearing the sacred thread
पुष्टानां पतये
to the lord of nourishment
Salutation to the green-haired Rudra who wears the sacred thread — the lord of all nourishment.

नमो भवस्य हेत्यै जगतां पतये नमः ।
Namo bhavasya hetyai jagataam pataye namah |

Salutation to Rudra who stands with bow drawn. Salutation to the lord of all fields and lands.

The second anuvak describes Rudra's many forms and lordships. He is master of directions, roads, food, creatures, fields, and the entire world. This anuvak reveals Rudra's all-pervading presence.
