In short
Saral Aastha does not collect any personal information from you. There is no login, no form, no cookies, and no advertising.
We only need to know which pages people find useful — so we can make the website better. For this, we use Vercel's anonymous traffic-counting service, which does not store any personal identifiers.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for, collect, or store any of the following:
— Your name, email, phone number, address, or any contact information
— Your age, gender, religion, or any personal identity
— Your exact location (GPS), device fingerprint, or browser fingerprint
— Any cookies — not temporary, not permanent, not third-party
— Your reading habits as any kind of personal profile
— Any information that could identify you as an individual
What we see (anonymously)
A service called Vercel Web Analytics gives us aggregated information — meaning data combined from all visitors, not from any one person:
— Total number of views for each page
— Which country visitors came from (country level only, not city or region)
— Which browsers and operating systems are most commonly used
— Which other website referred readers here (referrer)
Vercel's service sets no cookies. Your IP address is seen once, hashed for one day, and then discarded. We never know which specific person was on which page.
No ads, no commerce
There are no advertisements on this website. We do not use any ad network. We do not sell anything — no books, no services, no donation requests.
We do not sell your data to anyone, because we have no data to sell.
Third-party services
Only two third-party services are used on this website:
1. Google Fonts: To load Devanagari and Serif fonts (Tiro Devanagari Hindi, Noto Sans Devanagari, Noto Serif). Google Fonts may see the visitor's IP during this process. According to Google's own privacy policy, they do not set cookies on font requests.
2. Vercel (Hosting + Analytics): This website is hosted on Vercel. Vercel technically keeps server logs as any web host does. Vercel's privacy policy is available at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
Your rights under Indian law
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act 2023), if a website holds your personal information, you have the right to view, correct, delete, and file a grievance about it.
Since Saral Aastha does not hold any personal information, there is practically nothing to view, correct, or delete. Still, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.
For children
This website is designed to be read by children as well. Since we do not collect anyone's personal information, no data about children reaches us either. Parents or guardians should have no data-related concerns about letting their children read this website.
Changes to this policy
If we make any changes to this policy in the future, the last-updated date at the top of this page will reflect it. If there is a significant change, we will also place a short notice on the homepage.
