📖 Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 3 — Karma Yoga

Tasmat sarvagatam brahma nityam yajne pratishthitam
कर्म

born of the Imperishable (Para Brahman)
तस्मात्
therefore
सर्वगतम्
all-pervading
ब्रह्म
Brahman
नित्यम्
eternally
यज्ञे प्रतिष्ठितम्
is established in yajna

Where does action come from? From the Vedas. Where do the Vedas come from? From the Imperishable, the eternal Brahman. So at the root of all action, at the root of all yajna, sits the one reality that never changes. The entire chain of creation loops back to its source.

The phrase 'sarvagatam brahma nityam yajne pratishthitam' carries immense weight. The all-pervading Brahman is eternally present in yajna. This means that when we act in the true spirit of offering, we are not performing some mechanical ritual. We are touching the very ground of existence.

This completes the chain that began in 3.14. From action to yajna to rain to food to beings — and now back to the ultimate source: the Imperishable Brahman.

Gita 4.24 deepens this same vision: 'Brahman is the offering, Brahman is the oblation, poured by Brahman into the fire of Brahman.'
